We are not holding any learn to sail sessions.
The list of persons wishing to learn with us is not being extended. Please keep looking in Spring 2021, once the Covid epidemic is judged to be safe to sail.
All sessions are suspended until the centre re-opens and we will work within Government / RYA guidance. We already have a list of persons waiting to take part in taster and learn to sail.
We have now finished this years training until Spring 2019, the club will be running our free taster session, called nationally by the Royal Yachting Association ” Push The Boat Out ” . This will take place on 11th May 2019, plus the following Friday evenings during spring summer, for lessons.
Over the last month a number of emails have been received asking about learning to sail through the club. After the initial Push the boat out event, we have teach in evenings of Fridays. These are informal teaching, where hopefully all learn from each other. We do ask that people try to get down ready to go about 6pm. We have a WhatsApp group which will send out a message should the evening be called off because of bad weather etc. We do not charge a course fee, but ask you join the club. If you want certification at the end, we assess when you’re ready and can organise through Crosby Lakeside to have you graded by their instructors. The centre can issue RYA certificates.
We have some recent new wetsuits and buoyancy aids to use. You need suitable footwear and dry clothes and towel for afterwards.
OR you can take a course with Crosby Lakeside over a weekend or two and then join the club to further your sailing experiences.
Please contact on club email for information. Thank you there will be a dedicated page to help you decide what to do.
